AP PORTFOLIO DEVELOPMENT
Sean Yukler, 2024-2025
My inquiry revolved around the question: "Through human and skeletal portraiture and anatomy, how can we tackle the finality of death?"
Most people fear the very idea of dying. We cling to life as much as possible by buying into consumer culture, keeping up with our favorite celebrities, and caring too much about what others say about us in the present rather than focusing on the future. A big struggle of mine is establishing a clear connection between human anatomy (emphasis on accuracy and proportion of face, flesh, skin, and hair), vs. human structure (skeleton, bone, muscles, dramatic poses).
